Dare to Dream Focuses on Parents ((logo))

    Dare to Dream is an opportunity for children’s leaders and pastors to gain practical insight and current information that will benefit their ministry to children and families. Many children’s ministers and pastors have expressed interest in finding current resources that could be used in their ministry. The 2009 Dare to Dream conference will focus in Parent Ministry.

    Selma and Rodney Wilson, Editors of HomeLife at LifeWay Christian Resources have published a book, “The Parent Adventure.” Selma will lead conferences to help participants understand today’s family and the complexities of raising children in our busy world.
    Conferences include;
    Early Bird: The Kid Challenge: What is the changing face of the world from a child's perspective? We will look at some of the cultural impacts in a "child's world" and the impact this has on ministry focused toward children.

    Session 1: The Parent Challenge: What is the state of parenting in the US today? We will look at the LifeWay Parent Research with specific focus on the challenges facing parents in today's world. We will also look at some of the solutions we offer parents.

    Session 2: The Church Challenge: What are churches doing today to address the needs of families? What is working? What needs to be considered? The LifeWay Research for The Parent Adventure uncovered several churches that had strong parenting programs to help families today.

    Banquet: The Life Challenge: All of us are swimming upstream today whether parents, kids or church leaders. God is not surprised by the times we are living in and He has put us here to live life well so that others would know Him. We'll look at some key life lessons we can learn from kids and from God's Word.

    Other conferences will include ideas for ministering to expecting parents, parents of infants, preschoolers, children and preteens. Other ministry ideas like Family Fun Weekends and trends in kid’s culture will be shared. Discover how you can be more effective in your work with children by the ministry you provide to parents.
