How you communicate to your children that they are cherished and accepted both by you and by god , while still holding up realistic standards for them?

1. Avoid placing false values on them (intellect, beauty and athletic ability). Respect your child uniqueness without imposing pressures from the world’s value system, showing that they are made in God’s image regardless of performance.
2. As parents, agree on the expectations you have on your child. Differing expectations can cause confusion in child and lead to poor self esteem.
3. Communicate reasonable expectations and clearly verbalize your expectations.
4. Praise your child’s genuine effort.
