A Word from Keith Haygood

How deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son and make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turns His face away,
As wounds which marr the chosen One bring many sons to glory.
-Text by Stewart Townend

“How Deep the Father’s Love for Us!” What a powerful statement that is. The apostle Paul’s desire for every believer was “(That you) may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.” It is an overwhelming thought for me that God, in His infinite love and wisdom and perfection, loves me as His child. To think God would go to such extremes to express His love for us is an awesome thought. Jesus laid down His life to prove His love for me. He is calling me to do the same. As you go throughout your day, be sure and thank God for His love and grace and mercy. Think about what it really cost Him to give you eternal life. It cost us nothing. It cost God His only begotten Son. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Worship is the expression of love and gratitude from the heart of God's child to the heart of God the Father.

From Postlude to Prelude (Music Ministry’s Other Six Days)
By C. Randall Bradley

From Postlude to Prelude is the most comprehensive book on Church Music Administration that has been written in recent years. Author Randall Bradley discusses the “everyday life” of the Minister of Music, and suggests ways to deal with the multitude of tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis. Regardless of denominational affiliation, church size, or worship style, this book will be of help in navigating the many details important in creating a successful Music Ministry.

The Word Made Flesh (A Musical for Easter)
See what others are saying about the newest resource from the BGCO Worship and Music Ministries:

This article will appear in the Wetumka newspaper. Thank you for helping to make this possible. The message and music are great! And this is exactly what FBC, Wetumka needed this year to help get the choir going again after not having a choir for the last several years. Please pass this on to Jason, Jamie, Joel, Matt and Chris as you see fit.
-Ron Stone

The Word Made Flesh an Easter Musical written, composed, and arranged by six Music Ministers from across Oklahoma will be presented by the combined choirs of First Baptist Church, Wetumka and the Soldier Creek Baptist Church of Midwest City on Sunday, March 25 at First Baptist Church, Wetumka. The musical will begin at 6:00 P.M. First Baptist would like to invite you to join us in our new sanctuary for the musical. In return the Wetumka Choir will join Soldier Creek Baptist Church in Midwest City on April 1 to present the musical to that church. The Soldier Creek Baptist Church choir is led by Mr. Rick Hensley, Dr. Chuck McDade is the pastor. The Wetumka choir is led by interim Music Minister, Ron Stone and the interim Pastor is Rev. Jeff Jackson. This musical was made possible by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma.

We presented "The Word Made Flesh" last night at FBC, Wetumka and things went really well. We had 24 in the combined choir of FBC, Wetumka and Soldier Creek Baptist, Midwest City. This would be by far the largest choir Wetumka has seen in a long time. We had several visitors from other churches because most of the Wetumka churches do not have evening services. People were impressed that the musical was written and arranged by fellow Okies.

This coming Sunday evening we will do it again at Soldier Creek.
I hope for the sake of the smaller churches that you and the BGCO will be able to provide more musicals and music for our use. This experience has been a great boost to the choir and music program at FBC, Wetumka.

I found "The Word made flesh" musical on the internet. We would love to perform this play at our church in South Africa. This is an excellent play and I would just like to get permission to use this play.
Thanks,
Ferdinand Damon
